Systems Engineer
Responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of robust, large-scale enterprise systems and applications. This role involves establishing design standards, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, optimizing, and monitoring both software and hardware components of the enterprise infrastructure. Current supported technologies include Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), Epic, Microsoft Active Directory and ADFS, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop, Imprivata SSO, PowerShell. The Systems Engineer is a technical expert in one or more areas of responsibility and a strong team player. The role works with little supervision. Job duties and requirements include act as a subject matter expert (SME) for at least one area by proactively managing and designing systems to meet WakeMed's requirements and providing guidance and mentorship to peers, propose, design, implement, maintain, update, support, troubleshoot, and document solutions and technologies, proactively improve processes and reduce manual effort via optimization, automation, and scripting, forecast future system needs, optimizing system performance to maintain efficiency and scalability, make sure technologies are setup and operated reliably, efficiently, and securely, stay up to date with current and emerging technologies, and proactively propose or implement new ways to improve our service and environment, provide 2nd and 3rd tier support and participate in an on-call rotation, work with staff members, vendors, and others to resolve issues and assist with system setups and implementations, manage and lead internal projects, provide input to roadmaps and budget planning. Requires expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more of the technologies listed above. Proven hands-on experience architecting, designing, and operations systems and infrastructures required. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) strongly preferred.
