Hospital Pharmacist Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital Central Pharmacy (2nd Floor, B Tower)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens Pharmacist (Travel Contract)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Shift: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM, 7 on/7 off rotation (includes weekends)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,950 - $3,020
• Dress Code: Forest green top and bottom, or black bottom; business casual allowed

Pharmacist Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist (RPh) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience (hospital pharmacist jobs preferred)
• Experience supervising pharmacy technician staff
• Ability to work 3rd shift and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress clinical environment
• Preferred: Cerner and Vigilanz EMR experience, Emergency Department pharmacy experience, ACLS certification
• Excellent multitasking, teamwork, and communication skills

Hospital Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacy technician staff and ensure safe medication management
• Verify medication orders and complete accurate clinical documentation
• Perform product checking and medication distribution throughout the hospital
• Respond to clinical questions from nurses and healthcare providers
• Operate Talyst Machine, Pyxis, LAFW, CAI, and EMR systems (Cerner, Vigilanz)
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and medication management guidelines
