Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position at a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Wilson, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Located on the 2nd floor OB/GYN Combined unit of a 294-bed, Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Wilson, NC
• Specialty coverage includes L&D, OB/GYN, postpartum (PP), and simple med/surg overflow (hips, knees)
• L&D unit consists of 6 beds plus 1 triage/recovery room with an OR on the unit; PP unit has 12 beds
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards for L&D; PP ratios are 6:1 max, typically 3–4:1
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends every other weekend required
• Minimal call requirements
• L&D float requirement is limited to sitting or tasking for low census; PP rotates for low census
• GE Centricity used for fetal monitoring; Meditech used for charting (experience preferred)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or compact state license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Fetal monitoring class completed within the last 2 years required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
• OR circulation experience for C-sections preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel placement

Additional Information

• RNs in L&D will circulate for cesarean sections performed on the unit
• Hospital-supplied scrubs provided for L&D; any professional scrub attire is acceptable for PP/GYN
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
• Orientation is held on a bi-weekly schedule
• Wilson, NC is located approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh and within 1–2 hours of major universities and the NC coast
