Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Hampstead, NC, is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a contract position lasting the entire school year. This role plays a vital part in facilitating effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, staff, and peers, ensuring an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
• Facilitate communication between students, educators, and family members as needed
• Assist in translating educational materials to support student comprehension
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Collaborate with special education and support teams to meet individual student needs

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills suitable for K-12 educational settings
• Experience working as a sign language interpreter in schools or similar environments
