Crises Counselor (Ashville, NC)
- This opportunity is contingent upon the successful award of a contract***
- Provide real-time crisis counseling via phone, text, chat, or in-person sessions.
- Assist individuals navigate challenging situations and connect them with appropriate resources for on-going care.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans as needed.
- Offer emotional support, de-escalation, and coping strategies to individuals in crisis.
- Collaborate with emergency services, healthcare providers, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including confidentiality and mandated reporting
- Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and suicide prevention best practices.
- Knowledge of local mental health and social service resources.
