Position Overview:

We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented School Dishwasher to support our daily kitchen operations at one of our partner schools in Raleigh. In this important behind-the-scenes role, you'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and workspaces stay clean, sanitized, and organized. Your work helps make it possible for students to enjoy fresh, nutritious meals each day.

This is a part-time position (approximately 10-12 hours per week) with predictable daytime hours during the school week.

Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize all kitchenware, utensils, and trays
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, sinks, and equipment
• Assist with trash and recycling removal in accordance with food safety practices
• Support daily setup and cleanup of the kitchen and serving area
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines consistently
• Restock clean items in their proper locations to support efficient service
  
• Pitch in with general kitchen support as needed

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a kitchen, dishwashing, or janitorial role preferred but not required
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
• Willingness to take direction and help where needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 14 days of employment)
• Ability to clear a pre-employment background check and obtain any certifications required by the school
• A smartphone for basic job-related communication
