About the Role:

The Cutting Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately and efficiently cutting raw materials to specified dimensions and shapes. This position ensures that all cutting operations meet quality standards and production deadlines, directly impacting the overall product quality and workflow efficiency. The operator will work closely with production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications, setting up and adjusting cutting machinery accordingly. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent material waste and ensure a safe working environment. Ultimately, the Cutting Operator contributes to the seamless production of components that meet customer and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating cutting machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and measurement tools.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or training in machine operation or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting machines.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards.
• Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including overtime if required.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate cutting machines such as saws, shears, or automated cutting equipment according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and cutting instructions to determine material requirements and cutting sequences.
• Inspect raw materials and finished cuts for quality, ensuring dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
• Maintain cutting equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Record production data and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize cutting processes and improve efficiency.

Skills:

The Cutting Operator uses technical skills daily to set up and adjust cutting machinery precisely according to specifications, ensuring accurate cuts that meet quality standards. Attention to detail is essential when interpreting blueprints and measuring materials to avoid errors and material waste. Mechanical aptitude helps in performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues, minimizing downtime.
