SMBC is seeking a skilled QA Engineer with strong experience in the trading domain within investment banking , combined with hands-on scripting and automation skills using Python and Java . This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC , and only local candidates will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the trade lifecycle , experience working with trading applications, and the ability to contribute to both manual and automated testing efforts.

• Design, implement, and execute test cases based on business and technical requirements.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing of trading platforms.

• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using Python and Java .

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA leads to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Report, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA or equivalent.

• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.

• Perform backend testing using SQL and validate data flows through various systems.

• 5+ years of QA/testing experience, ideally in a trading/investment banking environment .

• Mandatory: Experience in trading domain understanding of order management systems (OMS) , trade lifecycle , FIX protocol , and market data feeds .

• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and Java for test automation.

• Proficient with test management and defect tracking tools ( JIRA, TestRail, etc. )

• Experience with SQL for data validation.

• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins is a plus.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Pytest, JUnit).

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

• ISTQB or similar QA certifications.
