LV/MV Control Assemblies Technician
Build the systems that power communities
Imagine stepping onto the floor in Wendell, NC for 2nd Shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm). In your hands: the components of low- and medium-voltage equipment—motor control centers, MV breakers, and switchgear. By the end of the night, those parts become precise, wired assemblies ready for the field.
How you’ll contribute
- Transform steel frames, parts kits, and sub-assemblies into complete LV/MV equipment.
- Route control wiring and power cables; interconnect control wires per instruction and drawings.
- Decode BOMs, layouts, and assembly blueprints; carry out basic wiring tasks when requested.
- Capture all required job transactions; apply correct torque with calibrated torque wrenches.
- Follow standardized methods, elevate safety, and continuously look for better ways of working.
- Be the teammate others rely on; handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
What you’ll need to succeed
- At least 1 year of mechanical assembly or comparable mechanical experience.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Clear English communication skills—read, write, and speak.
- A strong record of quality workmanship and productivity.
- Alignment with Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety policies and the Management System, and a commitment to continually improving its outcomes.
Bonus skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Forklift driving capability.
- Experience using SAP.
- Comfort identifying mechanical parts and electrical components.
- Hands-on proficiency with hand tools and power tools (pneumatic and battery).
- Knowledge of torque values and proper torque wrench practices.
- Accuracy with tape measures and other measurement instruments.
