Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long-Term Care Job

Healthforce by TLC
Pembroke, NC
Embark on a meaningful journey as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care, where every shift offers the chance to touch lives, support independence, and build lasting relationships with residents and their families. In this specialty, your hands-on expertise and compassionate approach become the bridge between comfort and quality of life. You’ll contribute to individualized care plans, monitor conditions, administer medications under the direction of the supervising nurse, assist with daily living activities, and advocate for residents’ dignity and safety. This role isn’t just a job—it’s a platform to shape the everyday experiences of seniors, empower teammates, and grow professionally in geriatrics. You’ll have the opportunity to refine assessment skills, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and witness the tangible impact of careful, patient-centered care. And because North Carolina’s landscape is so varied, you’ll discover rewarding settings and meaningful connections across communities, from quiet towns to vibrant regional hubs. Plus, in this state you’ll find opportunities to explore beautiful places in your downtime, whether you’re near serene forests and river trails or coastal towns and historic sites that highlight the state’s rich culture and natural beauty.

Pembroke, North Carolina, presents a welcoming, community-oriented base with access to essential services, outdoor recreation, and a pace that suits thoughtful caregiving. The location blends a close-knit atmosphere with convenient access to larger cities and regional facilities, creating a balanced backdrop for professional growth and work–life harmony. Working here means you’ll benefit from stable teams, consistent routines, and the chance to collaborate with experienced nurses who value mentorship and knowledge sharing. And for those who enjoy expanding their horizons, this role offers the possibility of assignments at partner facilities across the U.S., enriching your experience with diverse patient populations, facility cultures, and care approaches unique to each location. The region’s accessibility makes it easier to plan weekend excursions or short trips to nearby parks, cultural landmarks, and community events that celebrate local heritage.

As an LPN in Long-Term Care, you’ll take ownership of essential duties while receiving robust support. Your core responsibilities will include administering prescribed medications and treatments under nurse supervision, performing routine assessments and timely documentation, monitoring residents for changes in condition, and assisting with wound care, recuperation plans, and rehabilitation activities. You’ll support daily living activities and mobility, assist with feeding and hydration, and help coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and social services to ensure holistic, person-centered plans. Your role also involves safety and infection control practices, accurate charting, and proactive communication to flag any concerns. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth within geriatrics: mentoring from seasoned long-term care clinicians, access to targeted certifications, and programs designed to expand your clinical skills and leadership potential. In addition to competitive compensation, you’ll be eligible for a bonus program that recognizes consistent performance and dedication, along with housing assistance to ease transition and relocation considerations. There are clear pathways for contract extensions, enabling you to deepen your specialization and build lasting relationships with facilities that value your contribution. You’ll operate within a supportive framework that respects your time, your professional voice, and your well-being. And because this involves travel or assignments at multiple sites, you’ll receive comprehensive 24/7 support from a dedicated team that helps with onboarding, scheduling, transportation logistics, and any on-the-road needs, ensuring you’re never alone on a new assignment.

Our company values your growth as a professional and a person. We’re committed to empowering staff through continuous learning, clear career advancement tracks, and a culture of encouragement and respect. You’ll find a workplace that prioritizes teamwork, recognizes hard work, and supports your goals—whether that means pursuing a geriatric certification, taking on lead responsibilities in a unit, or keeping a healthy balance between personal life and demanding shifts. With us, you’re not just filling a position; you’re joining a network of clinicians dedicated to elevating quality of care, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another through every challenge and milestone.

Ready to apply? This is your chance to join a company that values your expertise, trust, and dedication to compassionate care. The position begins March 2, 2026, for a multi-week engagement with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekly pay ranges from $925 to $944, with an attractive bonus program, housing assistance, and opportunities to extend your assignment as you demonstrate excellence and leadership in patient care. We provide 24/7 support throughout travel and placement, ensuring you receive the guidance and resources you need at every stage. Note: the hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary.
