Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate educators experienced in teaching students with visual impairments to support a K-12 program in Hampstead, NC. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact throughout the school year by providing specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired learners.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff, utilizing assistive technology, and promoting independence and confidence in students academic and daily living skills. The role requires adaptability to support students across varying grade levels and to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Certification or significant experience in teaching students with visual impairments
• Knowledge of Braille and orientation/mobility techniques preferred
• Ability to design and deliver specialized instruction based on each students needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with educators, parents, and specialists
• Commitment to student growth and advocacy

Location: Hampstead, North Carolina
Duration: Contract position for the duration of the school year
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 12th grade
