Job Description:
The Payroll Accountant will support both payroll and accounting functions, ensuring accurate payroll processing while contributing to general ledger activities and compliance efforts. This role blends hands-on payroll administration with accounting responsibilities such as reconciliations, accruals, and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and variances
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Monitor cash activity and perform bank reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Prepare accruals and adjusting entries
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
