Product Manager
We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.
Data center infrastructure is evolving fast, and the physical systems that support server and networking equipment are critical to performance and reliability. Join nVent as a Product Manager focused on engineered hardware solutions that support data center and networking environments—working closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and field teams to bring scalable, market‑ready products from concept through launch.
** You will work a hybrid work schedule, with 4 days/week on-site in Anoka, MN; Raleigh, NC; or Warwick, RI. Relocation assistance may be available. **
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Own and implement end‑to‑end product lifecycle management, including product line strategy, multi‑year roadmaps, and technology plans for engineered, hardware‑based product portfolios with global market responsibility.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Development Process (PDP) initiatives by developing strong, data‑backed product recommendations, including customer needs, product requirements, feature definition, competitive positioning, financial projections, and go‑to‑market strategy.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance, sales, and marketing to deliver revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality, and timely delivery performance.
- Lead Voice of the Customer (VOC), market, and competitive research efforts with an emphasis on understanding how products fit into broader data center and networking architectures.
- Develop and communicate compelling, quantified value propositions and pricing rationale that clearly differentiate products for customers, channel partners, and sales teams.
- Partner with regional and global marketing teams to support go‑to‑market strategies, product launches, and creation of sales enablement and marketing collateral.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned product lines, supporting internal teams, customers, and channel partners while driving continuous improvement within the product management function.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in technical or hardware product management, product innovation, or new product development within engineered products, manufacturing, or industrial technology environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of products used in data center environments. Hands on exposure to networking adjacent infrastructure, interconnect, enclosure-based systems, or closely related technologies is preferred.
- Understanding of how products interface within larger systems, including performance, physical integration, and deployment considerations in critically important environments.
- Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical systems knowledge gained through hands‑on experience, manufacturing exposure, or close collaboration with engineering teams.
- Consistent track record leading complex, cross‑functional, matrixed teams and owning initiatives throughout all stages until commercialization.
- Strong business and project leadership skills, including experience managing product roadmaps, priorities, and profitability.
- Experience collaborating with commercial organizations, including sales, marketing, distributors, contractors, and/or manufacturer’s representatives.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% annually, including domestic overnight travel and occasional international travel.
