Psychiatrist - Full Time | Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health | Garner, North Carolina

About the Job:

The Psychiatrist is responsible for the medical and psychiatric aspects of admitting and treating patients. This includes initial and ongoing assessments, developing and maintaining up-to-date treatment plans tailored to each patient's psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial needs, and ensuring effective treatment progress in accordance with the plan.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Provide clinical services within federal, state, and organizational protocols.
2. Review patient medical information to ensure stability and provide medical recommendations.
3. Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
4. Administer or direct treatment using psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
5. Complete and document care plans, services, and related information promptly and confidentially, complying with policies and billing procedures.
6. Participate in patient admissions, cover for colleagues during absences, and appear in court for involuntary commitments when required.
7. Communicate patient progress and insights to treatment team members.
8. Participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications:

1. Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) and completion of psychiatric residency training.
2. Preferred: One or more years of post-graduate practice experience.
3. Current medical license in the state of practice.
4. Board certification or eligibility in a behavioral health specialty.
5. Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions, with additional credentials as required by state or facility regulations.
6. CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certification (training provided upon hire).
