Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Schedule/Hours:

• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No call required for travelers
• Must be available to work 75% of holidays

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience (Resource Team)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency in critical care drip management (including Insulin, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Heparin)
• Strong general PCU skillset: stroke management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube and drain/tube management, NGT placement, PCA pumps
• Experience with patient populations including stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, cardiac cath, liver failure, AKI/CKD, ETOH/CIWA, GI disorders
• Ability to float to different units/facilities as needed within the region

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive stepdown/PCU nursing care with RN: patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Skillfully monitor and respond to telemetry (nurse-monitored)
• Participate in seamless interdisciplinary collaboration with support from CNAs, resource nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and RTs (available 24/7)
• Utilize advanced hospital technologies: EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and Phillips monitors
• Willingness to float mid-shift to listed regional facilities within practice scope (paid for travel time)
