POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the accounts payable life-cycle. The position will support the company’s working capital objectives by ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing. As a key leader in the Accounting & Finance Department, the AP Manager will lead and develop a team of AP Specialists responsible for: reviewing, coding, entering invoices timely and accurately into the Travel & Expense and ERP accounting systems, as well as processing periodic payment settlements. The AP Manager will lead with a sense of urgency, taking initiative to ensure the AP Department exercises exceptional customer service while delivering timely responses to accounts payable requests and correspondence. The ideal candidate will lean into their analytical and problem-solving skills, while collaborating with various other departments to identify productive solutions for the organization and the customers we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of AP Specialists responsible for the full accounts payable life-cycle, including vouching invoices, company credit card and travel & entertainment expense reporting, payment settlements, and account reconciliations
• Manage and determine the best utilization of SAP Concur, the company’s integrated travel, expense, and invoice management solution
• Support the integration of newly acquired businesses, aligning AP practices and systems as needed
• Be a subject matter expert on the flow of inventory transactions and cost components including freight and customs costs and the application of FIFO inventory costing method, through maintenance of inventory verification procedures across warehouse locations
• Monitor inventory related transactions from purchase order processing through sale of goods; identify, investigate and resolve issues in the processing of transactions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through leveraging technology to streamline and enhance the AP processes, reporting and systems with a focus on automation, scalability and improved DPO
• Partner cross-functionally across the organization (broader finance team, operations, sales, IT, etc.) to investigate and resolve issues, implement best practices, and perform other ad hoc projects to improve performance of the business

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable management or a similar role
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience
• Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems
• Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Accounts Payable experience within a private equity-backed middle market industrial company or related industry
• Experience with implementing or enhancing accounts payable systems and software
• Experience with SAP Concur and/or Epicor P21
