Novant Health Cancer Institute–New Hanover, located in the scenic coastal city of Wilmington, NC, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible hematologist/oncologist to join our growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that prioritizes patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Opportunity Highlights:

• Predominantly outpatient practice based in Wilmington, NC
• Care delivered across multiple locations:
• Scotts Hill (new medical office building)
• NH NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center (Wilmington)
• Brunswick Forest, Leland, NC (supporting Brunswick County)
• Multidisciplinary cancer care in partnership with radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, advanced radiology, and pathology
• Active participation in tumor boards, multidisciplinary clinics, and nurse navigation programs
• Opportunities to engage in hospice and palliative care
• Academic involvement through UNC School of Medicine:
• Clinical professorships available
• NH NHRMC serves as a main campus for UNC medical students and residents
• Robust and expanding clinical research portfolio supported by Novant Health and UNC partnerships
• Current team includes 10 physicians and 10 advanced practice providers, with plans for continued growth
• Call schedule: 1 in 10, evenly distributed.
• Inpatient care supported by a dedicated hospitalist team
• Focus on disease site specialization—most physicians concentrate on 1–2 primary disease areas
• We are a Commission on Cancer-accredited program committed to excellence in cancer care.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology
• Open to new graduates and experienced clinicians
• Candidates with leadership experience or aspirations are strongly encouraged to apply
• Patient population: Adults (18+)

Compensation Details:

• We allow a protected day per week for administrative duties.
• Two-year salary guarantee with productivity-based earning potential
• Relocation allowance
