• Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (North Carolina travel nursing job)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Job Type: Travel RN / Locum Tenens
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Unit Size: 8 beds
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,680 - $1,730 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of recent MICU RN experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke
• Experience as preceptor and charge nurse preferred
• Proficiency with CRRT and transvenous pacing
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Must reside 60+ miles from facility to qualify for travel RN status

MICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the MICU
• Manage patients with acute respiratory failure (ARF), complex sepsis, and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment: CRRT, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, Aquadex, TOF/BIS monitoring
• Serve as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to advocate for patients and families
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EHR
• Float to other critical care or hospital units based on facility needs
