Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of tasks including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
• Collect and store specimens according to established protocols.
• Explain the process of venipuncture clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow all physician orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% accurate.
• Package specimens for transport according to required procedures.
• Store specimen samples at required temperatures and in appropriate containers.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department training sessions.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Essential Skills

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Ability to perform 20-50 blood draws per day, depending on patient volume.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Robbins, NC.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.20/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Robbins,NC.
