Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Medical Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 to 26 weeks
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1700-$1750
• Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)
• Float Requirement: Yes, within hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown nursing experience
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand by start date)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficient in interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias and remote monitoring
• Experience with Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal
• Central line and PICC line management; blood product administration
• Cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic charting experience preferred
• NIHSS certification and charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult cardiac telemetry patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac cath
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips and titration (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
• Perform sheath pulls and manage TR Bands and Femstop devices
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to rapid response situations
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
• Float to other hospital units as needed based on census and skill set
• Participate in storm/hurricane team response as required
• Document patient care using Epic EMR and follow SBAR communication protocols
