The Opportunity
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a focus on the delivery of projects byleading significant portions of a variety of facilities throughout the cycle of design and construction, and startupphases as a technical specialist or lead
- Hands-on involvement in developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs, andspecifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents
- Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects is also part of therole, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals
- Coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects.
- Communicate clientinterests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in theperformance of the work on less complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs andrequirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs
- Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants
- Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants
- Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation toclients
- Utilizes knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the waterengineering industry
- Applies knowledge to complex projects, find and develop non-standard design solutions to better serve clientsproject specifications
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers
- Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team
- Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
- Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manages assignedbudget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures,and criteria.
- Reviews engineering work and/or assignments of early career professionals.
- Is responsible for one or more ofthe following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leadingsmaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration
- Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/LiftStations)
- Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Certifications
Professional engineering registration is preferred or in active pursuit
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon managerdiscretion, job performance and work assignments.
- Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level,safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmosphericconditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
- Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading,writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods oftime, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
