Powered Industrial Truck Service Technician (LP/Electric)
Job Description
Job Description
What a day looks like
You start your morning reviewing work orders with the lead tech/manager and coordinating with Level 3 technicians you’ll support throughout the day. First stops are preventive maintenance on forklifts (LP and electric): changing engine oil, transmission fluid, differential gear lube, and hydraulic fluid; replacing air, oil, fuel, and ATF filters; and logging everything in MS Office.
Midday brings tune-ups and targeted fixes—adjusting valves, swapping spark plugs and wires, setting brake/riser adjustments, and inspecting/repacking wheel bearings. On schedule, you inspect and water forklift batteries, and when needed, you remove, repair, and reinstall them. You’ll also rotate attachment pads, touch up paint, replace parts like horns, lights, and tires, and handle steering and basic overheating diagnostics using your DVOM and wiring schematics.
Throughout, you deliver great customer service, communicate clearly, and operate self-sufficiently as an expert in either LP or electrical systems while staying competent across all repair tasks. You aim to complete at least 30 PM services per month and maintain 80–90% productivity.
