Title: Sales and Operations Director-Textiles

Our client is seeking a hands-on textile industry leader to oversee sales growth, operations, customer relationships, and global sourcing for its upholstery products business. This role will drive strategy, develop teams, improve processes, optimize inventory and forecasting, and strengthen partnerships with furniture manufacturers and international suppliers. The ideal candidate combines commercial expertise with operational leadership and a passion for building structure, accountability, and long-term growth.

Operational Excellence

• Partner closely with planning teams to monitor and maintain inventory levels.
• Forecast inventory requirements and anticipate market growth trends.
• Stay informed on delivery schedules and quality matters to support customer satisfaction.
• Establish and improve processes that drive efficiency and scalability.

Customer & Market Leadership

• Lead, develop, and mentor the sales and operational teams.
• Travel with team members to major customer accounts to understand market demands and identify growth opportunities.
• Develop strategies that translate customer needs into successful products and programs.
• Coordinate customer visitation schedules to maximize effectiveness and coverage.
• Ensure visit targets are achieved and opportunities across all market segments are explored.
• Provide ongoing support for key strategic accounts.
• Conduct regular team meetings to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
• Implement reporting, tracking, and performance measurement systems.
• Ensure pricing, margins, and delivery terms align with business objectives.
• Serve as a key liaison between North American and international teams.

Business Development & Brand Growth

• Develop new business opportunities and strengthen customer partnerships.
• Guide the launch and expansion of new product categories and market segments.
• Help identify and execute growth initiatives across multiple regions.

Global Sourcing & Product Development

• Participate in sourcing activities and product evaluations.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on sample reviews and product selection.
• Follow international sourcing procedures and best practices.
• Attend international furniture and industry trade shows to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Ensure trade shows and market presentations are professionally executed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with sister manufacturing facilities to ensure consistency and best practices.
• Maintain strong alignment with Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and Operations teams.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Travel Requirements

• Approximately 50% travel.
• International travel to locations including China, India, and Belgium several times per year.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
• Approximately 10+ years of leadership and management experience.
• Experience within upholstery, textiles, furniture, furnishings, or related manufacturing environments required.
• Marketing and merchandising experience is a plus.
• Experience working in entrepreneurial, family-owned, or growth-oriented organizations is highly desirable.
• Innovative, creative, and highly organized.
• Passion for products and market development.
• Strong planning, forecasting, and budget management capabilities.

Expected Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
