ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Sanford, NC 27330 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Emergency Department (21 beds: 12 telemetry, 3 behavioral health, 5 fast track rooms)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: August 10, 2025
• End Date: November 9, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680–$1730
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner

ER RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Proficient in trauma care, resuscitation, IV/IV drips, oxygen support, blood product administration, and telemetry/EKG monitoring
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Sanford, NC to qualify as a travel nurse

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a 21-bed ER
• Respond to trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies
• Administer medications, IV drips, blood products, and oxygen therapy
• Monitor and interpret telemetry/EKG readings
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EHR
• Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment and adapt to changing priorities
