Assistant Lodging Manager

SUMMARY
The Assistant Lodging Manager is responsible for the daily operations and management of all Front Desk Supervisors and Guest Services. The responsibilities will include assigning tasks to Front Desk Supervisors and Guest Services that deal with everyday activity to ensure a smooth operation. As Assistant Lodging Service Manager, you will also be responsible for daily line-ups, monthly meetings, positive leadership, and developing each team member to their full potential. Your role as the Manager on Duty will include overseeing all lodging functions of High Hampton and meeting and exceeding all of our guest requests. The major responsibilities of this position are to effectively handle any questions, problems, concerns, and needs of our guests. You will also be accountable for helping, guiding, and assisting the front desk and guest service departments. Consistently monitor hours worked to meet budgeted numbers and develop management strategies to improve the efficiency of both departments. Please note that this position would require primarily weekends and PM shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Front Desk
- Check-in and check-out guests, including proper welcome packets and assigning room
- All front desk duties, including answering phones and assisting with guest requests
- Inventory and care for all movies, medical supplies, and backstock of miscellaneous items
- Preparation of group resumes, assigning ownership for each task the group has requested
- Review daily reports and follow through with Front Desk Supervisors to have all information correct
- Plan and prepare schedules for the upcoming weeks and meet budgeted needs
- Continual training for all Front Desk Supervisors
- Review each guest profile and reservation before they arrive to ensure it is correct
- Create and maintain the front desk as the center of all communication
- Flexibility in scheduling including weekends and holidays
- Desire for continued education and growth
- Communicator with guests and fellow employees
Guest Services
- Provide direction for the Guest Service Supervisor
- Continual rounds checking Chestnut Cottage, Oak Cottage, bikes, golf carts, pool and tennis courts
- Assist all other departments to meet the guest needs
- Assign daily and weekly tasks to the Guest Services team
- Oversee scheduling needs and budgeted numbers
- Develop the Guest Service team to focus on the details of the property
Accounting
- Comprehend all guest charges
- Support the Front Desk Supervisor when there is a billing dispute
- Understand the point-of-sale operations for the gift shop and incidental charges
- Follow all procedures and make sure all team members do, as well
- Minimize revenue adjustments
Manager on Duty
- Review all arrival and departure information with Front Desk Supervisors to cross-examine each guest
- Observe and manage the front desk and guest services to follow through on daily tasks
- Meet and talk with all guests making certain they are enjoying their stay
- Handle all guest requests and resolve any problems that may arise
- Operate the property successfully
- Communicate with each department on all issues that may arise
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
College degree or 3-5 years Hospitality experience preferred
Computer skills in MS Windows & Excel
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Understanding of basic math and general accounting
REASONING ABILITY
Be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Be able to sit or be on your feet for a long period
Be able to lift up to 50lbs
Be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
General office / front desk reception area
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
