Catering Staff
Reporting Relationship: The position will report to Marketing Director on the marketing side, and Operations Director on the operations side
Hourly Wage: Will be paid a starting base hourly wage of $18 per hour plus the potential for a commission program.
Training: Training includes certain areas operationally to understand the business.

Schedule: The schedule will be based on the following criteria:
- Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business
- The ability to change his or her schedule after schedule is released
- In-person role whether it be at the off-site office or the restaurant or in the community building relationships and sales
- Three peak lunches from 11:30am-1:30pm as an operational shift* or 10-15 operational hours each week outside of catering if needed
- At least 10-15 hours of sales building hours a week as needed
- Around 25 hours of catering operations a week**
- Available for certain holidays such as Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day, or potentially others with high catering sales days
- Available for major catering days and weeks such as Christmas Eve, the week teachers are back to school in August (second week in August), teachers and nurses appreciation week (First/Second week in May), Graduation weekends and most days from Thanksgiving to December 25, etc.
*An operational shift is defined as in the restaurant contributing to the operations of the business whether serving a guest or serving the team serving the guest.
**Catering Operation hours are dependent on generating sales for catering.
Engagement: The leadership development director must be available to attend the following:
- Meeting with Sales & Brand Growth Director, Operations Director and/or Operator as needed
- Attend at least two team member outings per year

Catering Specialist Job Description
The Catering Specialist is responsible for both catering sales development and catering operations. The Catering Specialist builds relationships within the community to generate new business while helping extend our care beyond the restaurant by coordinating and executing catering experiences that serve our guests with excellence. This role supports the business by assisting with catering orders, deliveries, and events that reflect our SHINE values—bringing hospitality, intentional service, and joy to every meal we deliver. The role being a key part of how we show up for schools, businesses, families, and our greater Johnston County community.

Roles & Responsibilities
Systems, Process and Resources of a Social Media Specialists:
- Utilize the following tools:
- Pathway 2.0 as a training tool for Marketing and be proficient in the tool.
- The Studio as a tool for creative materials used for marketing and be proficient in the tool.
- Social Media Publisher tool to leverage social media platforms for Guest Communication.
- Proficient with Google Workspace and Canva
- Ensure content is within the guardrails of the VIS standards and Operational Standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with receiving, preparing, and packaging catering orders accurately and efficiently.
- Take primary responsibility for executing catering deliveries, ensuring they are on time and presented with professionalism and care.
- Adjust availability and communicate proactively to meet the needs of the catering schedule, unless it exceeds scheduled hours—then work with the Marketing or Operation Director to develop a solution.
- Represent Chick-fil-A Smithfield at off-site events and drop-offs with a friendly, guest-focused attitude.
- Support follow-up communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and build relationships.
- Work with the Marketing Director to promote catering services through events, tastings, and partnerships.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the catering area and delivery vehicle(s).
- Track and report catering metrics to help improve systems and performance.
- Be flexible and proactive in finding ways to say “yes” to guest needs and exceed expectations.
