Resident Experience Specialist – Summer Internship (Raleigh-Durham Market)
Program Dates: June 1st – September 1st
Looking for a hands-on summer experience where you can build real-world skills, connect with people, and make an impact? Join MAA as a Resident Experience Specialist Summer Intern and gain valuable exposure to property management while supporting multiple apartment communities across the Raleigh-Durham market .
This is a full-time, seasonal internship running from June 1st through September 1st , designed for individuals eager to learn, grow, and contribute to delivering exceptional resident experiences.
About the Role
As a Resident Experience Specialist Intern , you’ll work closely with property managers and on-site teams to deliver outstanding customer service and operational support. This internship offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same—you’ll interact with residents, assist with community operations, and gain insight into multi-family property management.
What You’ll Do
- Support move-in and move-out experiences, including pre-inspections and resident orientations
- Help create memorable first impressions by preparing personalized welcome experiences for new residents
- Respond to resident inquiries via phone, online platforms, and internal systems
- Assist with service request coordination and follow-ups
- Learn and support property tours, including self-guided and walk-in prospects
- Maintain knowledge of community features, amenities, and local market trends
- Partner with team members to ensure excellent curb appeal and community standards
- Assist with resident engagement events and community outreach initiatives
- Support administrative processes such as applications, lease documentation, and notices
- Help monitor and maintain the community’s online reputation and reviews
- Collaborate with multiple teams across several Raleigh-Durham area properties, gaining broad exposure to operations

What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Interest in customer service, real estate, hospitality, or business operations
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred:
- Previous customer service or administrative experience
- Interest in property management or resident engagement
- Bilingual skills are a plus
