Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A registered nurse with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is needed for a contract opportunity in Charlotte, NC. This role suits an RN skilled in stepdown and progressive care nursing, ready to provide specialized care for complex post-surgical patients in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Minimum 18 months PCU nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required as part of resource team
• Proficient in managing surgical drains, central lines, G/J tubes, heparin and cardiac drips
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and NGT placement/management
• Ability to perform CNA duties such as blood draws and Foley catheter insertion/removal
• Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and telemetry monitoring

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients including post-operative HPB surgery, womens surgery, and plastic reconstruction cases
• Manage patient ratios averaging 1:4-6 with surge coverage up to 1:7-8
• Collaborate with charge nurses, IV/VAT teams, resource nurses, and telemetry techs
• Support patient safety utilizing unit-specific equipment like bladder scanners and bedside monitors

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM7:15 PM or 6:45 PM7:15 AM
• Weekend rotation every other week
• Work approximately 75% of holidays with possibility to request up to 6 days off excluding holidays
• Orientation includes 2 days departmental plus hospital NEO
