Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Henderson, North Carolina (Zip: 27536) – Ideal for RNs seeking North Carolina nursing jobs in a welcoming Southern community with access to lakes, parks, and local culture.
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit – 48 beds
• Employment Type: Locum tenens / Travel RN contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1730 - $1770
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon EHR
• Scrub Color: Blue/Black

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Strong teamwork, attendance, and punctuality skills
• Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
• Professional appearance and adherence to healthcare dress code (no casual wear)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 48-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage patient assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care and interventions in the Paragon EHR system
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with occasional float requirements
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and attendance standards
