ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Thomasville, NC 27360 (North Carolina emergency room jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital Emergency Department (21 beds, certified stroke and chest pain center)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,590 - $1,640
• Self-Scheduling: With unit leadership balancing
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Uniform: Navy Blue Scrubs

ER Nurse Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room (ER) nursing experience
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at start)
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, MOAB
• Essential Skills: IV start, triage, telemetry, conscious sedation, EPIC charting
• Preferred Skills: Ventilator management, TNCC, SANE, NRP
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Willingness to float to other units based on skill set and hospital census
• Ability to work every other Sunday and additional weekends as needed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) per contract; no RTO during first week

ER Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Perform IV starts, triage, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation procedures
• Document patient care using EPIC; manage medications with PYXIS
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, unit secretary)
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to isolation precautions
• Manage dysrhythmias, arterial and central lines, and ventilated patients
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support clinical operations
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical education modules
