Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol Driver in Durham, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer at a bustling retail and mall location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence. You will have the unique responsibility of supporting the community by providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while on duty. This position is both armed and requires driving, giving you a dynamic and engaging environment to apply your skills. What You'll Do:
- Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies in a retail or mall environment while providing customer service to clients and visitors.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, escalating when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols both inside the location and along the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Remain alert and observant to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted behavior within the location.
- Engage with individuals in a professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing directions as needed.
- Collaborate with Allied Universal management and local law enforcement as necessary during emergencies or escalated incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Handcuffing certification is preferred.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
