Fleet Dispatch Supervisor

The Greensboro, NC Fleet Division is seeking a Fleet Dispatch Supervisor to join its dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient coordination of fleet operations, supporting both internal and external customers, and maintaining high standards of compliance and communication. Responsibilities

• Receive and process haul orders from customers, the scrap department, and job site supervisors, and schedule drivers for pickups and deliveries.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of drivers to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Monitor driver daily logs for errors, violations, and hours of service compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date driver records, certifications, and licenses in collaboration with fleet administration.
• Generate and submit weekly driver hours reports using company systems for payroll processing.
• Utilize telematics and electronic Hours of Service (HOS) systems to ensure accuracy of driver logs and vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs).
• Assist the Fleet Manager with administrative tasks and support other departments as needed.
• Coordinate heavy truck and trailer availability for preventive maintenance and repairs with the shop.
• Collaborate with scales room, accounting, legal, and safety departments on inter-divisional functions.
• Cross-train with assistants to ensure coverage during absences.
• Conduct interviews and road tests for CDL driver candidates.
• Operate a CDL truck in emergency situations if required.
• Visit customer sites as needed and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, management, and other departments.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including RIMAS, UNITY, AMCS, Mobile Dispatcher, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience in fleet dispatch, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to analyze and monitor driver logs and compliance records.
• Capability to conduct CDL driver interviews and road tests.
• Physical ability to perform light lifting (up to 30 pounds), walk across the corporate campus and scrap yard, and enter/exit heavy-duty truck cabs as needed.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
