The Job

Position Summary

A GRT Client is seeking Tech Leads – Front End Full Stack to support a high-priority initiative in the healthcare technology space. In this role, you will split your time between two local offices (Durham and a local Raleigh office) to lead the design and implementation of web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver rich user experiences and robust middle-tier services, ensuring alignment with best practices in both development and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Stack Technical Leadership : Drive front-end and middle-tier development, focusing on building performant, resilient web applications.
  • Hands-On Development : Utilize modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular 10+, Vue.js, Node.js) to craft responsive and robust user interfaces and services.
  • API Design & Integration : Develop and integrate RESTful or GraphQL APIs, ensuring efficient data flow and secure communication between application layers.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment : Work closely with architecture, security, and UX/design teams to ensure architecturally compliant and user-focused solutions.
  • Secure Coding Standards : Implement secure coding practices to safeguard customer data and uphold compliance standards.
  • Coaching & Mentorship : Guide junior and mid-level developers on best practices, coding standards, and the latest front-end technologies.
  • Agile & TDD Methodologies : Champion modern development principles such as trunk-based development, feature toggles, and branch by abstraction; drive test-driven development and high code coverage.
  • Continuous Improvement : Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies, advising on tools and processes that improve code quality, performance, and maintainability.

The Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ Years of Web Development : Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale web applications.
  • Front-End Expertise : Hands-on experience with Angular (10+), Vue.js, or Node.js; proficiency with frameworks and libraries in the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Middle-Tier & Java : Solid knowledge of Java and open-source technologies for building robust back-end services.
  • RESTful / GraphQL Services : Skilled in creating, integrating, and securing modern APIs.
  • Secure Coding : Strong understanding of secure coding standards and best practices.
  • CS Fundamentals : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering methodologies.
  • Test-Driven Development : Familiarity with testing frameworks and the test pyramid, along with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Team Leadership : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide teams in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Details

  • On-Site Requirement : This is a 5-day-a-week onsite role ; you will alternate between the Durham office and a local Raleigh facility.
  • Local Candidates Only : Must reside in the Raleigh-Durham area or be willing to relocate prior to the start date.
  • Work Authorization : Candidates must be eligible to work on a W2 basis.
