Position Summary:
Assist the EVP with daily tasks, projects, and activities to ensure claims are filed promptly and accurately with all the required information. Other duties as assigned. Required to physically go into the office within our North Carolina Regional office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track daily productivity to report to supervisor.
- Maintain assigned tracking spreadsheets.
- Will use multiple hospital portals for accessing medical records.
- Work closely with the manager reporting any issues, concerns, or trends in workflow.
- Must remain HIPAA compliant.
- Answer phones, direct inquiries to appropriate personnel. Place outbound phone calls.
- Manage legal inquiries complete affidavits, and create and send invoices related to requests on patient accounts.
- Use billing systems to submit paper claims with anesthesia records and/or associated EOBs.
- Receive and complete requests for medical records; upload medical records and requested information into payor portal(s) for payment.
- Complete assigned administrative duties (e.g., send emails, photocopy/scan/fax documents, order office supplies, manage calendars, schedule meetings, arrange travel, send outgoing mailings and packages. etc.).
- Support assigned projects and tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- High School graduate or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of two-year (2) experience in a business office preferably healthcare but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and issues.
- Skilled in Microsoft computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Highly skilled in professional verbal and written communication.
- Skilled in gathering and reporting information.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of leadership and staff.
- Must display teamwork attitude and good inter-personal skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to exercise effective decision-making skills to accomplish goals and creatively problem-solve issues.
- Detail-oriented individual with sound judgment with a focus on having the job completed in a timely manner.

Base pay is based on market location and will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that NPH provides to compensate and recognize our staff for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
