Job Description
As an A/R Collections Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations and performance of the collections team, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and achievement of portfolio management goals. You will be responsible for enforcing credit policies, managing trade receivables, and developing strategies to minimize bad debt and days sales outstanding (DSO). The role involves cross-functional collaboration with finance, sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure efficient business processes and superior customer service. You will also play a key role in training, coaching, and developing team members, as well as maintaining data integrity and system performance within the ERP environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and develop collections team members, including hiring, performance management, and coaching.
Enforce credit and collections policies and procedures to protect the quality of trade receivables.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce write-offs and improve collection efficiency.
Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, assigning work and providing solutions for overdue accounts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize procedures and improve operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation of collection efforts and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to monitor team performance and maintain data integrity.
Foster a positive team environment aligned with company values and customer service standards.
Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field, or two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in credit and collections (7 years for non-degreed candidates).
Proven experience in supervising or leading teams within a finance or collections environment.
Skills:
Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to motivate and develop team members.
Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
