Next Gen Pastor – The Orchard Church
Position Overview
The Next Gen Pastor is a full-time ministerial position reporting to the Executive Pastor. This role is responsible for providing a balanced program of ministry to children, students, and college-age individuals by equipping staff members in PreK, Kids, and Student ministries while primarily focusing on college student discipleship. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong personal faith and commitment to developing the next generation of disciples.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the ministry team leader for children, student, and college ministries through building, motivating, and leading in accordance with The Orchard Church’s core values, mission, and vision
Equip and provide leadership and development for PreK, Kids, and Student ministry staff members and programs
Continue development, implement changes, and grow a comprehensive college ministry program
Create discipleship strategies specific to younger generations
Support and enhance family ministry initiatives
Manage, develop, and maintain annual operational budgets for Next Gen ministry areas
Develop lay-leaders to help manage all responsibilities in alignment with Ephesians 4:11-12
Plan specific ministry activities designed to reach college students and younger generations

Other Duties & Responsibilities
Recruit church members and guests to attend next generation ministry programs
Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditation
Maintain proper priorities in your home and be a spiritual leader to your spouse and children, if applicable
Be actively involved in the making of disciples
Assess the effectiveness of ministry activities and programs and make changes as needed
Maintain wise stewardship of all God’s resources

Qualifications
Preferred Licensed or Ordained Minister
Evidence of moral character and a lifestyle that is consistent with that of The Orchard Church’s Constitution, Bylaws and Statement of Faith
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a church ministerial environment with focus on youth/next generation ministry
Preferred ministerial degree and substantiated leadership experience

Knowledge & Skills
Vigorously supports our mission and vision
Cooperates with our guiding principles and philosophy of ministry
Understands current cultural/social environment, particularly relating to younger generations
Maintains a healthy attitude and support for our Lead Pastor and team
Strong prayer life
Understanding of current events, youth culture, and social media
Effective communication with all levels of staff, community, and particularly with younger generations
Ability to interpret and respond to personal and confidential situations
Management of multiple priorities and events
Proficiency with MS Office, internet, email, and social media resources
Experience with digital platforms and communication tools relevant to youth ministry

Working Conditions
Travel to various locations and facilities is required
Inside and outside work in a variety of venues
Non-hourly position that may require ministry after regular hours
Light lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
Ability to drive or airline travel, internationally and nationally
Some work performed in an office environment with proper heating, cooling, and lighting
