Under limited supervision, the candidate will assist with field service issues, troubleshooting, equipment commissioning and validation of fire pump controllers and industrial control equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides verbal or written troubleshooting assistance for field issues

• Provides verbal or written procedures for modifications or adjustments and repair services on Firetrol products in the field

• Preform field troubleshooting and repairs

• Perform field modifications to Firetrol products or its intended operation

• Perform field acceptance testing

• Prepares service reports which may contain design recommendations that may be forwarded to Product Engineering groups

• Provides follow-up action, as required, with reference to Field Service trips

• Supervises outside contractors including technicians, and service workers as it relates to the Companys products at the job site in order to complete field service work

• Conducts training sessions in the operation, maintenance, theory and design of Firetrol control panels, as required

• Conducts software testing
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, control logic, and sequencing functions

• Basic knowledge of symbols, relay ladder diagrams and electronic schematics

• Basic knowledge of hydraulic symbols and diagrams

• Working knowledge of motor contactors, control relays, and solid-state electronic components and circuits

• Working knowledge of complex electrical systems

• Knowledgeable of manufacturers, suppliers, and other sources of electrical and electronic equipment and components as related to motor control systems

• Knowledge of problem solving and troubleshooting techniques

• Knowledge of quoting techniques including translating specifications into a concept, estimating time and material, and project scheduling

• Knowledge of work planning techniques for scheduling projects
• Someone that is bilingual (English and Spanish) is a big plus!

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• 2 Year associates degree or experience (5+ years) may be considered in lieu of degree

• Low and medium voltage power applications experience as well as diesel engine control

• Understanding of building management and other communication protocols a plus

• Experienced in working with the National Electrical Code

• CAD skills a plus
