Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students in Catawba County, North Carolina. This contract role is designed to support a caseload of approximately 12 students across multiple schools.

Key Details:

• Position: Part-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Location: Statesville, NC
• Student Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 12th grade
• Caseload: 12 students
• Work Setting: Itinerant services across 9 schools
• Weekly Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
• Contract Duration: Non-school year (NSY)
• Current Work Arrangement: Onsite with potential for virtual (VOCO) work in the future

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments.
• Travel between schools to deliver services to assigned students.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet educational goals.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and other professionals to promote student success.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
• Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments.
• Ability to effectively manage an itinerant caseload across multiple school sites.
• Strong munication and collaboration skills.
