Job Summary - The Dental Biller is responsible for the accurate and timely billing, claims processing, payment posting, and collections activities for dental services provided by Piedmont Health Services, Inc. This position supports the mission of a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by ensuring compliance with federal, state, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer requirements while promoting exceptional customer service to patients and internal teammates. The Dental Biller works collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to maximize reimbursement, reduce claim denials, and support efficient revenue cycle operations. Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications -
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, accounting, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of dental billing experience.
- Experience using dental practice management and electronic health record systems.
- Experience with North Carolina Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care plans, preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or FQHC environments, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of dental billing procedures, insurance claims processing, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Understanding of CDT, CPT, ICD-10 coding, and dental terminology.
- Familiarity with FQHC billing regulations and sliding fee discount programs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with patients experiencing financial, medical, or social challenges.
- Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment
Pay Range: $50,306 - $67,607 (commensurate with years of experience)
