**Position Overview: Dietitian Role**

**Core Responsibilities:**

- Strategically plan and execute complex work functions with significant responsibility requiring minimal oversight.

- Engage in research initiatives and performance improvement projects to enhance service delivery.

- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments/evaluations, encompassing analysis of nutrient intake, physical activity, appetite variations, vitamin and mineral intake, utilization of nutritional supplements and complementary alternative medicine, weight history, taste alterations, feeding complications, food intolerances, food-drug interactions, maladaptive dietary behaviors, as well as considerations of socioeconomic status and ethnic diversity. Evaluate documented medical history, current diagnoses, treatment modalities, ongoing pharmacotherapy, and clinical manifestations indicative of nutritional deficiencies.

- Implement foundational principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

- Employ clinical dietetics and medical nutrition therapy principles to autonomously devise, coordinate, and manage interventions, interdisciplinary care plans, and educational initiatives related to nutrition.

- Conduct research, analyses, and documentation of findings relevant to evaluating staff performance, food options, nutritional supplements, feeding methods, meal alternatives, supplies, equipment, and overall service efficiency for operational enhancement.

- Utilize contemporary food service systems management principles within a healthcare setting.

**Work Schedule:** - Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day, scheduled between 7 AM and 5 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break. Services may be required on federal holidays with no weekend or on-call duties.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

- **Education:** Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), completion of an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), or a post-Baccalaureate Dietetic Internship Program comprising at least 1200 hours of supervised practice accredited by ACEND.

- **Experience:** A minimum of one year of specialized experience in diet therapy subsequent to graduation. - **Licensure:** Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

- **Life Support Certification:** Current certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

- **Security Requirements:** Ability to successfully undergo a government background check/security clearance.
