VP/Director of Finance

Description We are seeking an experienced Finance Leader to oversee financial operations and provide strategic leadership across budgeting, accounting, purchasing, grants, and audit compliance. This role reports directly to the CFO and is a key member of the executive leadership team. Key Responsibilities + Direct daily financial and business office operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective internal controls. + Oversee accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and grant management functions. + Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to support executive decision-making. + Lead the development of fiscal policies, systems, and procedures to ensure efficiency and risk mitigation. + Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals across accounting, student accounts, and procurement. + Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning and long-term financial sustainability. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree and/or CPA preferred. + 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, ideally within higher education or public sector environments. + Strong understanding of fund accounting, audit compliance, budgeting, and procurement practices. + Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach. + Proficiency with enterprise financial systems and Microsoft Office tools; experience with business intelligence or ERP systems is a plus.
