Care Redesign Clinical Leader

Summary: **We are looking for a team member who shows dedication to excellence, is passionate, and has experience with Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) or regulatory bundles of care and development of surgical care pathways.** This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities associated with one or more initiatives across UNC Health related to health care value and outcomes. This individual develops the project charter, the execution strategy, supports the clinical/business case and manages the work of the chartered work teams to achieve desired outcomes. This individual represents their team within the UNC Health community and ensures continual focus on achieving desired project outcomes. This individual will interface daily with stakeholders across UNC Health entities to successfully define, plan, executive and deliver desired outcomes. This individual also works collaboratively with physicians, leaders, and/or staff to achieve high performance outcomes. Responsibilities: 1. Develops the project charter, execution strategy, supports clinical/business case and various high-level stakeholder and project management plans required to achieve desired outcomes. Works with leadership team to ensure project execution strategy aligns with other concurrent initiatives. 2. Communicates with department leadership and key HCS and Entity Leaders to communicate project strategy, direction, changes, and clinical implications. 3. Leads and facilitates project-related discussions between stakeholder groups and utilizes skills and experience to reach desired outcomes, which may include business process designs, data analysis and visualization, project charters and work plans, care paths and order sets. 4. Delivers assigned projects on time and creates and monitors relevant metrics, as well as strategy and business requirements. Maximizes each project's impact on improved outcomes or increasing the value of patient care by decreasing care variation. 5. Analyzes and resolves complex issues. Manages political issues to engage stakeholder groups and manage downstream impact of team's work. 6. Leads identification, facilitation and execution of change management initiatives required to achieve desired project outcomes. 7. Manipulates data and and performs data analysis to develop reports to support initiatives. 8. Provides both direct and indirect support to clinical leaders and co-workers implementing new tools and techniques to enhance values and outcomes to include creating and teaching educational documents. **Other Information** Other information: **Education Requirements:** ● If non-clinical: ·Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Science or Health Care-related field. ·Master's degree preferred. If clinical: ·Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Science or Health Care-related field. ·Master's degree preferred. **Licensure/Certification Requirements:** ● If clinical: clinical education required (degree or certification or license acceptable, eg - RN, NP, PA, PT, etc.) **Professional Experience Requirements:** ● If non-clinical: -Professional Experience: If Master's degree: five (5) years of relevant experience (eg - healthcare, business, consulting, strategy, project management, quality, performance improvement, design and implementation) -OR- If Bachelor's degree: seven (7) years of relevant experience (eg - healthcare, business, consulting, strategy, project management, quality, performance improvement, design and implementation). Previous healthcare experience required. If clinical: ·Clinical Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare managerial role, or healthcare educator role -OR- Four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting - for example: inpatient, outpatient, home health or hospice. AND ·Professional Experience: If Master's degree: three (3) years of relevant experience (eg - healthcare, business, consulting, strategy, project management, quality, performance improvement, design and implementation) -OR- If Bachelor's degree: five (5) years of relevant experience (eg - healthcare, business, consulting, strategy, project management, quality, performance improvement, design and implementation). Clinical leadership and healthcare experience required. **Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:** ● · Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives in a clinical and/or business environment · Excellent analytical and communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills · Proven ability to excel and achieve results in a team-oriented, matrixed environment · Experience leading groups of stakeholders/leaders to achieve quantifiable results · Knowledge of project and change management techniques and tools · Highly responsive to internal customers · Proficient in Office Suite tools. Prefer applicant with experience in areas such as Tableau, EHR reporting (Crystal reports, workbench, etc.) · Proficient in reading, documenting in, and teaching use of an electronic health record.
