About the Role
This is not an IT Helpdesk role.
This is a hands on hardware, software, installation and troubleshooting position working directly with healthcare technology systems in the field.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service & Installation Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing and supporting a range of healthcare technologies, including nurse call systems used in hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States.
This is a customer facing role, with regular travel to customer sites across the U.S. You’ll spend a lot of time onsite with customers, supporting hospitals and healthcare teams directly, while also working closely with the wider Austco team.
No two days are the same. One day you might be commissioning a new hospital system, the next troubleshooting complex technical issues onsite, supporting a customer through a critical issue or working alongside project and service teams to deliver an installation successfully.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Install, service, diagnose, troubleshoot and maintain nurse call systems and related technologies
• Commission front end workstations and servers
• Read and interpret existing installations and as built drawings
• Perform preventative maintenance, repair and emergency service work
• Work closely with customers to ensure installations and service work are completed to a high standard
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Service teams and other internal stakeholders across the business
• Support continuous improvement by documenting work completed, solutions and technical findings
What We’re Looking For
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent hands on experience
• Experience working with networking, operating systems and system integration
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Experience with network topology and virtual environments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
• Flexibility to participate in an on call roster
• Ability to travel to customer sites across the U.S. whenever needed
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Experience in healthcare technology or nurse call systems is highly regarded
Why Join Austco?

• Join a supportive, collaborative and passionate team
• Variety in your day with hands on technical work and customer interaction
