About the Opportunity
A growing building products organization is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead, develop, and support a regional sales team. This role is ideal for a hands-on sales leader who enjoys building strong customer relationships, coaching sales talent, driving accountability, and creating market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop sales team members within the assigned market.
- Build and maintain strong customer and industry relationships.
- Drive sales performance through scorecards, metrics, and accountability.
- Lead daily customer-focused meetings to review issues, opportunities, and service performance.
- Partner with HR and leadership to recruit and develop sales talent.
- Attend customer and industry events focused on relationship building, product training, and process improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
- Oversee showroom displays to ensure functionality, appearance, and customer impact.
- Support profitability goals by managing budgets, costs, and market performance.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Experience in building materials, construction products, or a related industry preferred.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and performance management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to drive results and hold teams accountable.
- Strong relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of order entry, sales, and operations management systems.
- Ability to work across office, warehouse, fabrication, showroom, and construction site environments.
- Ability to travel as needed.
