Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A position is available for a registered nurse with critical care expertise in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting. This contract opportunity involves providing focused care in an 18-bed CVICU unit with an experienced team and advanced support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver prehensive critical care nursing, including ventilator management, central line care, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and manage critically ill patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, DKA, CHF, stroke, and respiratory illnesses.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including respiratory therapists, intensivists (available virtually nights), and hospitalists.
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR and utilize technological equipment like Philips monitors and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
- Participate in a weekend rotation schedule, covering one weekend every other week, and contribute to holiday coverage as specified.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse license with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum of two years ICU experience required; first-time travelers with CVICU experience will be considered.
- Proficient in critical care assessment, ventilator support, and acute patient management.
- Adaptability to float within the defined regional hospital network if needed.
Schedule and Additional Details:
- 12-hour night shift from 1900 to 0700.
- Two-day departmental orientation provided.
- Scheduled breaks and weekends off every other week.
- No on-call or call-back requirements.
- Free parking available.
