Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract (Locum Tenens)

• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 40 (Day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 5x8-hour days)
• Average Daily Census: 110 patients
• Equipment: 3 Varian linear accelerators (TrueBeam, Halcyon, 21iX), Siemens CT simulator
• Holiday Schedule: Extended time off around Thanksgiving and Christmas; work the Sunday before, closed the Friday after
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,080 - $2,140

Radiation Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting
• Current ARRT (T) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with adult outpatient radiation therapy
• Proficiency in CBCT, kV/mV imaging, IMRT, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, and chart checks
• Familiarity with ARIA, TrueBeam, and radiation safety protocols
• Active North Carolina or Compact state license required at start
• Experience with Epic or similar electronic charting systems preferred
• First-time travel Radiation Therapists are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise radiation treatments to adult outpatients using advanced Varian linacs and Siemens CT simulator
• Perform imaging and simulation procedures, including CBCT, kV/mV imaging
• Administer treatments for a range of conditions: benign brain tumors, craniospinal, gynecomastia, heterotopic bone, keloids, prophylactic treatments, prostate cancer (seeds/fiducials), superior vena cava syndrome
• Conduct chart checks and maintain accurate documentation in ARIA and Epic systems
• Adhere to strict radiation safety and isolation protocols
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care
• Work in partnership with another Radiation Therapist; orientation provided for each machine
• Maintain flexibility with start times based on patient volume and department needs
