Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Schedule/Hours
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No on-call expectations for travelers
- Holiday commitment: 75% of holidays worked
- Schedule flexibility approved by the Resource Team
Qualifications
- Active RN license and eligibility for practice in North Carolina
- Minimum 18 months recent PCU RN experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Expertise in critical care drip management (e.g., insulin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone), cardiac rhythm interpretation, and comprehensive general PCU skillset
- Proficiency in tracheostomy care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (e.g., PEG tubes, JP drains)
- Stroke and cardiac patient care experience highly valued
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate nursing care to stepdown patients with diverse diagnoses (stroke, heart failure, cardiac cath, respiratory, GI, liver, and renal disorders)
- Manage patient ratios (typically 1:3-4)
- Float within designated region facilities as needed; paid for intra-shift travel
- Use EPIC EMR and advanced hospital technologies (Alaris, Omnicell, Phillips monitors)
