Position Summary
Join Dilworth Coffee as a Lead Warehouse Associate and take charge of our shipping and receiving operations while mentoring team members in our fast-growing specialty coffee company. We are seeking a passionate specialty coffee enthusiast to lead our warehouse team in a dynamic, growing company. The ideal candidate is a dependable, hard-working individual who can maintain detail-oriented focus with minimal supervision while providing guidance and leadership to warehouse staff.
Leadership Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor warehouse associates, providing training and guidance on best practices
• Workflow Coordination: Organize daily tasks and priorities for the warehouse team to ensure efficient operations
• Quality Oversight: Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols • Training & Development: Onboard new team members and provide ongoing skills development
• Performance Management: Conduct regular check-ins with team members and provide constructive feedback • Cross-Department Communication: Liaise with Coffee Production, Management, and other departments as needed
Core Operational Duties
• Detail-oriented picking, reviewing, and packing of coffeehouse and gourmet beverage products for FedEx, UPS, and LTL shipment, as well as customer pickups
• Receive inbound freight, organize products according to movement volume, and monitor best-by dating
• Conduct regular cycle-counts as well as quarterly and end-of-year inventory counts
• Accurately enter data utilizing handheld scanners and various shipping/inventory management software applications
• Safely operate walk-behind, straddle-stacker style forklift and manual pallet jacks to arrange, load, and unload freight
• Maintain safe and clean work environment, adhering to Food Safety Plan and company safety policies
• Assist Shipping and Receiving and Coffee Production teams with routine cleaning and GMP checklist duties to comply with all requirements
• Building maintenance and common area duties with flexibility to assist other departments when needed
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous warehouse and/or inventory control experience required
• 1+ years leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience working in beverage or food production industry preferred
Technical Skills
• Basic computer and data entry skills (Google Office Suite, ERP, shipping tools)
• Experience with warehouse scanning tools
• Basic math skills including percentages and ability to convert between various measurement units
• UPS Worldship experience preferred

Physical Requirements
• Heavy lifting: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and repetitively during normal daily shift
• Standing and walking: Long periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces for 8+ hours
• Climbing: Safely ascend and descend ladders, stepladders, and trailer steps while balancing loads
• Bending: Ability to bend at the waist repeatedly to retrieve scoops of coffee and other supplies
• Hearing: Ability to distinguish various mechanical sounds and receive verbal information in moderately noisy environment
• Speaking: Ability to verbally communicate and relay information in moderately noisy environment
• Vision: Ability to distinguish between color shades of roasted coffee and operate machinery, forklifts, and hand tools
• Attention span: Ability to pay close attention to multiple tasks at detail level for long durations
• Reading: Ability to read, comprehend, and understand paper and digital documents
Work Environment
• Temperature: Climate-controlled facility with temperature fluctuations during outdoor loading/unloading activities
• Environmental: Exposure to significant amounts of dust, burlap/jute, and coffee chaff (protective equipment provided)
• Noise: Substantial noise from machinery requiring loud speech levels for communication (hearing protection provided)
• Hazards: Workplace contains hot equipment, machinery, fast-moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, ladders, heavy moving machinery (forklift), and overhead storage
Compensation & Benefits
Salary
$16-18/hour DOE
After 90-day probationary period: $19-21/hour DOE
