We are seeking a professional like you to lead and coordinate all commercial activities at selected Asphalt Emulsion customers, delivering both account retention and profitable growth. You will perform critical account management activities including account planning, preparation, deal-closing, and follow-up, requiring effective steering to ensure target achievement. As the main point of contact for our customers, you will coordinate efforts and collaborate closely with Marketing, Technical, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure we meet customer needs.
Formula for Success
- Leveraging your prior commercial experience in the Asphalt Emulsions space, you will anticipate market trends, identify customer needs, and structure business solutions showcasing BASF’s Dispersions and Additives portfolio.
- Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with key stakeholders at respective accounts to promote our offering, increase our share of wallet, and improve customer experience.
- Create account-specific plans that are aligned with the overall business strategy. Drive plan execution by generating, maintaining and converting sales opportunities in an effective manner and meeting financial targets (volume, sales, and margin).
- Regularly interface with technical and commercial representatives of the targeted customers to educate on our differentiated offerings.
- Negotiate and close opportunities or contracts with customers and provide operational guidance.
- Engage and coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Technical, R&D, and Supply Chain) to further develop the customer experience and ensure the account plans are executed.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts to support efficient planning of products and services.
- Identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications, and grow relationships to continuously grow current and future business.
- Continuously support market intelligence gathering on both current and potential customer portfolio, competitor activities, and market solutions.
If you have...
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent and 8 plus years serving in a commercial role or an Advanced Degree with 5 plus years of experience.
- Experience and demonstrated success delivering results for customers in a relevant industry (asphalt emulsions, paving, latex technologies)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully with stakeholders from multiple backgrounds, including leadership, to understand well customer needs and to work across internal functions to deliver results
- Skill in planning longer-term approach to customer accounts and in implementing these account plans over time
- A results-driven mindset, with strong ownership and initiative to deliver measurable business impact
