CVICU RN Job Details – Hickory, NC

• Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28601 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: December 7, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed
• Unit Size: 8-bed CVICU
• Patient Ratio: 2:1, occasional 1:1
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710-$1750

CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent CVICU nursing experience (post-orientation)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (CCRN certification preferred)
• Strong clinical skills in critical care and cardiovascular nursing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Willingness to float per scheduled rotation
• Professional appearance; scrubs of any color permitted

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiovascular ICU
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac conditions, including CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid procedures
• Operate advanced cardiovascular equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient care and interventions accurately in Cerner EHR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment
